WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE - REINCARNATE

Weathered timber and foraged driftwood

‘This piece holds the key that unlocked the door into my creative endeavours, the door into my imaginations potential.
The beak of this sculpture was the first piece of driftwood that spoke to me, the moment I picked it up off a deserted beach in far north Queensland, a channel of creative power opened within me signifying the beginning of a new journey.

The intense rush of inspiration that continued to flow through me after finding this piece, led me to collecting driftwood from this stretch of beach nearly every day for months following. A dialogue was opened between the universe and I, and this dialogue has significantly changed my life forever.

With approximately 180 very selectively chosen pieces of my favourite foraged driftwood, I took my time through countless hours over 12 months to bring this sculpture alive.

Standing poised & strong in the winds, with a proud chest and broad shoulders. Australia's largest bird of prey, the Wedge-Tailed Eagle is considered the king of our sky's, who here has touched down and grounded himself on two feet, to meet us, to remind us.

- In dreaming, The Eagle is a symbol of forgiveness if resentment colours your day. Wedge-tailed Eagles help us to remember the ability we have in being able to take flight and view our world from a higher perspective, to see the bigger picture. Eagles can also see the smallest of movement's and act very quickly. Reminding us we too can act as soon as we see our goal – don’t wait.. and I sure didn't!
Around the globe the eagle is often a solar symbol, and can be linked to all sky gods. It signifies inspiration, release from bondage, victory, longevity, speed, pride, father and royalty’
